About the Admins: a Timeline

Straight Up was founded by ImpDude on April 1st, 2019. The server started as a passion project, running on a computer that he and his brother WonderBlunts built out of spare parts. He set out to create a server free of admin abuse, unnecessary rules, and uncertainty about its future. These are the guiding principles that we have stuck with to this day, and we owe much of our success to the precedent that he set.

ImpDude retired from ownership after his server hardware suffered a catastrophic failure. He and WonderBlunts tried in vain to save the server machine, and many believed that this would be the end of Straight Up. Fortunately, he was able to salvage all of the server's data and transfer it to Savant27, who volunteered to take over running the server.

An active community member and Discord moderator since 2019, Savant27 brought Straight Up back to life by personally funding dedicated hosting when ImpDude stepped down. For three years, he maintained and upgraded the server, providing the performance and stability needed for the community's growth.

Eventually, other commitments began to demand more and more of his time, and he felt that he was no longer able to give the server the attention it deserved. After three years of dutifully running the server, he passed the torch to Eismeister, the server's Discord admin.

Eismeister joined Straight Up in 2019 and volunteered to create and run an official Discord server for Straight Up. During those five years as a regular player, he became known for his reputation as a griefer, base hunter, and PvPer - making his transition to ownership a true redefinition of his role within the community.

When the server was offered to him in 2024, he officially retired from all gameplay activities in order to ensure that there would be no concerns of admin abuse or any conflict of interest. As Straight Up's admin, Eismeister has focused on growing the server's population through advertising, alongside efforts to reduce barriers and friction. Straight Up continues to thrive, welcoming new players while preserving the principles that have guided the community since its founding.
